Education Progressing
In my opinion education has changed and definitely improved for the better over the years. Even though the educational board has kept the school system pretty much the same there have been major improvements in the educational program itself. The students used to be taught in small classrooms with teachers who would come to their classrooms and teach them a subject regardless if they needed to learn about it or not . There really wasn't much of a choice when it came to these matters and the students weren't able to choose the classes they wanted, but instead they had to be taught all of the mandatory classes to "succeed" in life. Over the years that has changed and now the students are able to choose the classes they're passionate about and actually want to learn more about, yes there are still required classes, but there is also a lot of freedom for the children with their education and their will to participate and want to take the classes. The schools have definitely improved on the technology and the way that the students are taught now. New innovative techniques and devices are used to help students acquire the knowledge that they need and actually want to learn. The educational system even though in a way remains the same it also changes and improves throughout the years and generations.
I agree with you that in many different ways the school system itself has progressed but it still has a long way to go. One thing I was thinking about while reading the part about how we get more freedom to choose the classes we want to take is that America especially has done a great job in this. However in other countries such as Albania, where my cousins go they always talk about how lucky we are that we get to at least choose a few classes every year.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people argue that the education system has not changed at all for a long time, so it is interesting to hear a different point of view. I agree that, although the basic structure of schooling may be the same, we have definitely come a long way in terms of class selection and learning through new technology. And, even though we have required classes, we still have plenty of room to choose electives and career-based courses around them.
